Clenbuterol, brand of Clenbuterol Hydrochloride tablets, is a direct-acting sympathomimetic with mainly beta-adrenergic activity and a selective action on beta2 receptor (a beta2 agonist). Each tablet contains 20 and 40 microgram of Clenbuterol Hydrochloride, Ph.Eur.5.5, micronized grade. It is designated chemically as 1-(4-Amino-3,5-dichlorophenyl)-2-tert-butylaminoethanol hydrochloride.It occurs as white or almost white crystalline powder. Soluble in water and in alcohol; slightly soluble in acetone. 5% solution in water has a pH of 5.0 to 7.0.
Each tablet also contains lactose monohydrate, sodium starch glycolate, polyvidone 25,000, microcrystalline cellulose and magnesium stearate as excipients. The 40 mcg tablet also contains yellow ferric oxide (E172) and indigo carmine aluminium lake (E132) as colouring agent and the 20 mcg tablet do not contains any colouring agent.
Clenbuterol acts through selective stimulation of the β2-receptors. It differs from other β2-specific sympathomimetic by the low effective dose, long biological half-life, rapid and complete absorption by oral administration. It has properties similar to those of salbutamol. It is used as a bronchodilator in the management of reversible airways obstruction, as in asthma and certain patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Clenbuterol has some potential side effects which can be serious. Among them are depression, anxiety, dehydration, heart problems, insomnia. While these side effects don’t happen to everyone, they help explain why Clenbuterol is illegal in the U.S.
Clen works very effectively, but the risks you take in using it remain high. If you are a professional athlete, Clen counts as doping. If you have pre-existing health problems, you seriously gamble with your condition.
Although Clenbuterol is available in other forms, it is most commonly taken as a tablet, dosed in micrograms. Being a powerful stimulant, Clenbuterol quickly causes the down regulation of the receptors, and is therefore best taken in short cycles for maximum effect.
With the half-life of the drug being 36-48 hours, concentrations can remain elevated in the body for several days after admission. This is something we have to keep in mind when planning an effective Clenbuterol cycle. As mentioned, Clenbuterol is best taken in short cycles to maximise its effects, but given its long half-life only taking a few days off will not allow enough time for the up-regulation of the receptors. So, in general, a minimal of 10-14 days should be taken off in-between cycles, with a cycle itself lasting up to two weeks.
If it is your first time using Clenbuterol it would be wise to slowly raise the dosage over the initial two week cycle to gauge your tolerance to the drug. A wise choice may be to start off with an initial dose of one 20mcg tablet on the first day, and increase this dose by a tablet a day until you reach a maximum dose of 120-140mcg (6-7 20mcg tablets). When you begin your second cycle after a two week break you can start close to your maximum dose, beginning with say 80mcg on the first day and increasing it by one tablet a day until you again reach your maximum dosage of 120-140 mcg.
