Sustanon is an androgenic preparation for intramuscular administration containing four different esters of the natural hormone testosterone. It contains a hormone which is similar to the hormone testosterone that is produced by the body.
Testosterone is a male sex hormone that is responsible for the development of male characteristics. These include hair growth on face and body, deepening of the voice, muscle development and the development of the male genitalia. Testosterone is also important for maintaining bone strength of bones, libido and fertility.
Men whose bodies don’t produce enough testosterone may be prone to problems such as decreased libido, infertility or osteoporosis. Sustanon is therefore widely used to fix the problems related to low testosterone level.
Not surprisingly, this is the most popular testosterone blend in the world. It contains four different esters and each has a different half-life in the body. They are Testosterone Propionate 30 mg, Testosterone Phenylpropionate 60 mg, Testosterone Isocaproate 60 mg, Testosterone Decanoate, also known as Deca, 100 mg.
There are different types of Sustanon. The 250 mg/ml is the most popular, but there are also Sustanon 300 and 350. I recommend using Sustanon 250 to avoid pain after the injections
Sustanon was originally developed by Organon in the 70’s for patients doing Testosterone Replacement Therapy.
In bodybuilding, it can be used also in combination with other steroids. After a Testosterone cycle, the body’s natural level of testosterone will be significantly reduced; therefore it is compulsory to add 50 mg of Clomid or 20 mg of Tamoxifen for 2 weeks.
Thanks to different esters, Sustanon 250 works almost immediately injecting and continues its effect for up to 3 weeks.
Of the four kinds of Testosterone, Propionate has the shortest action lasting only 2-3 days. Phenylpropionate has a half life of 4-5 days, so it will maintain the level of testosterone after Propionate is excreted from the body. Isocaproate has a half life of 7-9 days. Decanoate, with a half life of more than 2 weeks, is one of the longest lasting esters available in steroids. The peak of activity is reached in about 13 days.
The most common side effects of Sustanon are gynecomastia and excess water retention, which might cause elevated blood pressure. In order to avoid these side effects, bodybuilders use an aromatase inhibitor like Anastrozole.
Sustanon has negative effects on the cardiovascular system, most notably on the cholesterol level. It also has androgenic side effects such as acne, oily skin, increased hair growth all over the body, deepening of the voice, prostate enlargement, and baldness.
